Nine years ago, we spoke with Geri Klughart of British Columbia, Canada—a woman who had lost both her mother and her husband to cancer. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer herself, Geri chose a path that went against medical advice and trusted cannabis oil instead, despite being told she had a “death wish.”  Today, Geri returns with the gift of perspective. In this conversation, we explore how that decision—and the trauma surrounding it—reshaped her health, her worldview, and the way she relates to life itself.  

After a shocking stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis, today’s guest—a healthcare worker who must remain anonymous due to employment restrictions—faced overwhelming odds. From navigating two medical systems across continents to self-treating with cannabis oil while dodging workplace drug tests, her story is one of resilience, resourcefulness, and deep conviction. In this episode, she opens up about the barriers she’s faced, the treatments she’s tried, and why she’s holding onto hope through cannabis and community.

We first interviewed Carmen Tuohy of Connecticut in January of 2021 after she was given the all clear from her battle with breast cancer. But 6 months later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer once again—in her other breast. This time she refused chemotherapy and instead used only cannabis oil and dietary changes and today is once again cancer free. We’re honored to have her back on the show to share her powerful journey and insights into healing with cannabis.

Trang Doan from California was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, only a year after her mother died of cervical cancer while following conventional treatment. When the doctor told her that she had breast cancer and recommended a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation, she adamantly refused. He told her if she didn’t follow his recommendation she would die. Undeterred, Trang’s husband made her cannabis oil to treat her cancer and when she went back for tests a year later there was no evidence of disease.
